Mines are a natural resource available in every county in RK. They are run by the County and, when open, provide a set number of low-wage jobs to players. It is normally lower level players, especially level 0s, that work in the mines, though they are open to everyone.

There is a tiered work schedule that can be selected from when choosing to work in a mine. The tiers differ on the time spend working and the corresponding pay. These time tiers are 1, 2, 6, 10, and 22 hour shifts. The shorter work shifts offer a higher pound per hour wage, a differential that becomes significantly larger when comparing the two ends of the spectrum.

Mine Management and MaintenanceEdit

The mines are managed and controlled by two members of the county council, the Sheriff and the Mines Superintendent. The Sheriff is in charge of setting the number of mine jobs available. There is a maximum number of jobs per mine, normally about 50, though Ayr and Sussex counties both have mines with a capacity of 75. Both Council members have the choice to maintain and upgrade the mines.

Every day, the mines must be maintained, or they have a chance of degrading in status, and even collapsing, causing a much more costly emergency maintenance/repair.
