Carlisle was the capital of Cumberland. It was invaded by [[NNGO]] and Fury forces in May 1458. NNGO forces abandoned the city after weeks of looting, pillaging, killing, and annexing the city to Galloway, Scotland. England retook Carlisle after a summer siege. In February 1459 it became a node when Westmorland was created.
