Battle (fighting) results when two forces (individual or group) come into intentional conflict. A battle does not occur when two forces merely occupy the same space - an action of conflict needs be initiated by one of the parties. This can be the result of a robbery, military or revolt action. All conflicts (except revolts) are resolved through the collective fight coefficient of one force against the other.

Though damage even from an armed conflict can be severe, it does not however always result in death.

- There is some debate over how fight coefficents are calculated. The data represented here and on Fight Coefficient page have been gathered from groups that have been in continued conflict for months and have the most experience with the subject.
